Cold Laser Therapy

At Magna Chiropractic we are introducing Cold Laser Therapy as an added treatment for our patients.  The following is a brief description of the benefits this type of therapy can bring.

Definition: Cold laser therapies use light energy to directly stimulate the body’s cells to do what they were created to do. What happens is the laser carries particles of energy that penetrate the skin’s surface and are absorbed by the photo receptor sites in the cell membrane. The cells and tissues then convert the light energy into biochemical energy. With this increased energy, it initiates a cell to cell signal for the desired biological process to happen so the cell can function normally and be restored. Some of these processes are:
  • Reduction of pain and inflammation / improved circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Decreased swelling
  • Cell growth causing tissue repair and strengthening
  • Improved immune response
All of these processes lead to an improved healing time.

Kinesio Taping Method

We are now incorporating Kinesio Taping for our patients at Magna Chiropractic, the following is a description of how this method helps our bodies heal:

The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting.

Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio® Tex Tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions.

The Kinesio® Taping Method is a therapeutic taping technique not only offering your patient the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitating the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio® Tex Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.

This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.
